This unit is a CR-3A Nakamichi Cassette Player made for performance. The Cassette Player/Recorder is in Excellent Condition. There are some scratches on the top due to stacking. Nakamichi CR-3A Three Head Discrete Audio Cassette Deck
The only true high quality cassette decks are 3-head. Each head is optimized for the particular function-wide gap on the record head for maximum tape saturation and a narrow gap on the play head for retrieving all of the high frequencies. Any two head cassette deck is a compromise.
The CR3A head configuration is discrete-separate record and play head with full alignment adjustments for each head. A 3-head "sandwich" style cannot be aligned like a discrete head machine-and you can easily hear the difference!
Dual capstan add to the stability of the tape as it moves across the heads and the tape pad lifter removes the problem of the tape pad that is built into the cassette tapes.
