12VDC to 10VDC VOLTAGE STABILIZER

FOR NEGATIVE & POSITIVE EARTH CARS  This is a solid-state voltage stabilizer for classic cars with 12v negative or positive earth. This is a direct replacement for the bimetal spring and contact breaker device that was fitted to classic cars originally.

The cars battery voltage is fed into a voltage stabilizer, which is normally 12v with engine off and about 14v when engine is running. The voltage stabilizer reduces this voltage to a steady 10v for the instrument gauges so they don’t fluctuate with the battery voltage.

The original voltage stabilizer is unreliable and they break down after a while and either over read or allow full system voltage to the gauges, which will burn the gauges out. This alternative is a modern solid-state device which will do the same job but is much more reliable and won’t burn out your gauges.

I have tried and tested this device on my 1972 Triumph Spitfire. This device plugs straight in to the original wiring and works perfectly with a nice steady 10v output. This device will work on other classic cars including Ford, Jaguar, Triumph, MG, Lotus, Daimler, Rolls Royce, Mini Cooper, or any other classic car that has a 12V negative or positive earth electrical system and mechanical gauges. 

The enclosure's measurements are, 36 by 16 by 24mm. The cables are long enough to alter for different cars if necessary. This stabilizer will comfortably provide enough power for 3 gauges, anymore and its recommended another stabilizer is purchased.

This item directly replaces your original stabilizer and is very simple to fit. It works better than the original stabilizer because it uses modern components.  I make these stabilizers myself and for your own piece if mind I am a fully qualified electrical engineer.
