Please find for sale a vintage Sony TC-55 Cassette recorder. It comes with the original AC power cable and black protective case. This sale also includes the 6 accessories shown in the pictures and listed below. I will try my best to describe the condition of the TC-55 and all of the accessories. I purchased these items from an estate of an older gentleman so I don't have any personal history of them.
The Sony TC-55 is in overall good condition for its age. The AC power charger works. The TC-55 will power on. The control buttons on the top all seem to work. The motor that drives the cassettes will work. Sometimes it doesn't start right away. I notice that if you push the FWD or Reverse buttons down slower it seems to work most of the time. I don't know if its got a belt that slips or a dirty contact, but sometimes when you push the big buttons on the top and they don't work you have to do it again slower to get the motor turning the cassette. I played the only cassette that I have it played it ok, it would drag a bit from time to time, probably due to a stretched belt inside my guess. I tried to use the built in recorder to do a test recording and it recorded but had some bad background static. The black protective cover is in good condition, only issue with it is that it is missing one of the metal snaps.

I am including 6 accessories with this sale. The list is below and testing of each one is included.

1.Sony F84 Voice Control Microphone. This microphone seemed to record ok, but the remote off switch did not seem to work.
2. Sony F-95 Sony Dynamic Microphone. This microphone seemed to record ok and the on and off both worked on the switch
3.Sony RM-15 Remote Control.  This device seemed to work to pause/run the TC-55
4.Panasonic VSQW0001 Pause Remote Controller. I was not able to test this device as I don't think it works with the TC-55. But it looks in new unused condtion.
5. Sony ECM-95-S Electret Condenser Microphone. I was not able to successfully record anything with this microphone. I don't know if it was something I was doing wrong or if it's just faulty.
6. Sony ECM-16 Mini Microphone with tie clip. I did try to use this to do a test recording and I was not successful. Again I don't know if it was something I was doing wrong or if the microphone is fault.
In the above I have done my best to describe the working/non working condition of the TC-55 and all of the accessories for sale with it. As with any vintage electronic item that has not been professionally rebuilt or refurbished this TC-55 does not work to 100% standards. Its too good to be listed as for parts, but not in good enough working condtion to say everything works on it like a new unit. So you're buying it based on my description above/as is. If you're expecting it to work like a new unit, please don't purchase it. It will need some attention to get it closer to 100% working order. Its really more of a collectors item. Please feel free to email me with any questions of if you need additional pictures. I have 100% feedback and I value that in how I list my items for sale. Shipping will be best way (UPS, Fedex, USPS) determined by the buyers location.
Thanks for looking.
