Papilio paris – the Paris peacock

Papilio paris, the Paris peacock, is a species of swallowtail butterfly found in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia at altitudes of up to 1,500m.

Aside from the bright splash of emerald green, the wings appear black at first sight, but are sprinkled with green scales.
