Moldavite is a tektite meteorite crystal. It is thought to be the only "extraterrestrial" gemstone. It is believed to be  found only in the Moldau Valley which is located in Czechoslovakia. Moldavite comes in different shades from bright green, olive green, and even yellow.  The bright green is the most valuable.  I am a gemologist as well as a jeweler with over 35 years practice in both areas.
