Presenting is a genuine vintage De Molay Jewel that shows increcible detailing throughout. A gorgous piece in radiant gold with marvelous detailed Ena,el and several tiny seed peral-type jewels. Our guess is that this item may have been made sometime within the last fifty or so years. Maybe older or later. The Jewel is gorgeous and in very good condition. The quality of the red, white and blue enamel is outstanding. It sparkles like magic. The ribbon is solid and clean. Overall, it measures around 3 ½ inches in length. A a magnificent rendering of the old DEMOLAY CREST! While this piece is a wonderful glowing gold color, we are not jewelers and do not know if this has any actual gold in it or if it is a gold colored metal of some type (which it may well be). Beautiful either way! Besides, if it were marked for gold, the price would be way, way higher then what we are selling this item for. A VERY FINE PIECE! There is no makers marking. But this is as fine as the best jewelry made by “The Ames Sword Company”, “M. C. Lilley & Co”, “The Pettibone Bros” and “William Horstmann of Philadelphia”. Do not let this beauty pass you by! THE ORDER OF DE MOLAY
The Order of DeMolay, founded in 1919 in Missouri by the idealistic Mason, Frank S. Land, the group is named to commemorate Jacques De Molay, martyred last official Grand Master of the ancient Medieval Knights Templar. The aims of the modern Demolay Youth Order was and still is to instill in the young a high set of morals and to build and develop good character. Originally, admission was open only to the sons of Masons, but in time this requirement was dropped. Demolay subsequently opened its doors to welcome in others with a less direct lineage to Masonry. It could be regarded as a sort of youthful Fraternal group. The DeMolay Organization is universally regarded as being one of the finest of all youth groups. While some of its members do go on to become active members of Freemasonry, others do not. But all credit this wonderful organization with instilling in them a sense of truth and morality that they in turn, will impart onto their own children. Demolay's alumni include some very prominent personalities, such as the late Hollywood actor & Mason John Wayne, producer Walt Disney and former President Bill Clinton (a non-Mason). The organization is very much active today with branches in every state.
