On offer today is a splendid genuine Sheffield Sterling Silver Handled Letter Opener which bears the Chippendale pattern which is very pleasing on the eyes. The piece has a genuine diamond steel blade which has a mirrored finish. The handle is fully hallmarked with the letter d for 1921 along with the Lion and the Crown and the Makers mark which is WH&S Ltd - the makers mark for William Hutton & Sons, a high quality maker. The Silver handle on this particular letter opener is in terrific condition for its age as the photos reflect and looks very special. The marks are deep and clear on this piece. The paper knife is 21 cm in length and weighs a hefty 47 grammes.
