This is a beautiful example of the early Selmer craftsmanship and attention to detail.  This is an original factory gold plated Model 26 soprano saxophone.  This was sold as 'on the Sgt. Pepper album'.  There is absolutely NO provenance or way to substantiate that claim, but it's a nice story;)
There will be two of these coming from my collection and this is the 'favorite child' because of the gorgeous engraving that wraps around and the gold plating.  It's from the early 30's and has been used so there's a typical wear of plating and buckle rash from 80 years of service.  This instrument has a sweet centered tone and feels very comfortable to play. Boston area legend, Emelio Lyons overhauled this instrument and added much needed custom palm key risers (pictured). It comes in the original case w/o mouth piece.

It's a bargain at any price so bid early and often!!!
