A scarce collection of the letters by Comte de Laborde which were originally published in the journal 'La Presse' in Feburary of 1845 regarding the Bibliotheque Royal.
Includes the first, second and eighth of Laborde's letters, regarding the proposal of the Bibliotheque Royale in the Centre of Paris, the movement of the project and its construction.
Includes several plates and illustrations throughout.
CONDITION
In a half morocco binding with paper vellum boards. Externally, rather worn with some loss to the leather. The rear joint is weakening and there is some wear to the top and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound, bright with some light, scattered foxing and tidemarks throughout. A bookplate has been tipped into the front pastedown from Wigan Free Public Library and seven blind-stamped library stamps to the lower right corners.
Overall Condition: FAIR.
