Great example of the sexy fedoras women wore in the 1930s and 1940s. Can't you imagine this on a hard-boiled, sultry dame in an old detective film? The crown is constructed of fine strips of fur felt, sewn to alternating strips of faille, making it nicely supple and lighter weight. It is formed into a rounded peak that you indent on top as deeply as desired. The wide brim is sewn asymmetrically to the crown for that rakish tilt and the crown is molded into a kepi shape - very 1930s. The fur felt has an amazingly delicious hand - almost feels like suede. A very nice beaver felt, I believe.
Inner circumference is 22 1/4", so this is a large size. Will best fit heads 22 1/2" and up.
Labeled a size 7 1/4. Inner petersham ribbon is stamped Dobbs Five Hundred (manufacturer and style name), and Famous-Barr Co (store)
Condition is very good to excellent - amazing for a hat of this vintage. The ONLY thing to mention is faint make-up residue inside forehead area. No moth damage, no odors.
