Leroy “Roy” Smeck was known as the “Wizard of the Strings,” an acknowledgement of his brilliant versatility and talent playing banjo, steel guitar, ukulele, and guitar during his early vaudeville act and his later career as an solo entertainer and star of movies and TV. Smeck had an endorsement deal with Harmony, and this rare, four-string banjo is one of that partnership’s results. The instrument is indeed playable and it’s a nice collector’s item from a bygone era. It's body appears to be bakelite plastic with a wooden neck. Play it, display it, your choice. Comes with a gig bag.
