There's something about Nikon equipment, you pick it up and you're instantly aware of the seminal images of our lifetime, captured by this wonderful, cherished equipment.  Never is this more apparent than when looking at a Pro level period piece of kit such as this.

A rare and sought after Ai 135mm 2.0 Nikkor lens.  Offered in limited numbers from 1977 to 2005.  The serial number on this particular example to circa 1978, early on in the production run.  This lovely lens has the AI version of the F Mount, so is compatible with absolutely every single Nikon SLR or DSLR made since 1959,  right up to the current Df and D750 and is the ideal companion to any of the Nikon bodies for sale in my OTHER AUCTIONS  It will even any current Nikon DSLR,  I have been trialling it on a D7000 with very pleasing results and with an adapter, It will be just as capable on either the amazing new full frame Sony A7 and A7ii/r/s Canon DSLR, Micro Four thirds, such as my Son's Panasonic G6 modelling it below (with an effective length of a 270mm F2.0!), Sony NEX or the amazing Full frame Sony A7, A7ii and A9, you can even mount it on a Leica M!

This particular lens is in excellent condition.  That vast, wide open glass is completely clear of marks and there is no dust visible when that immense barrel is held up to the daylight.  There is absolutely no sign of any oil or fungus at all.  To use this lens, it feels nicely hefty and tight. The focus and aperture rings move as smoothly as you would hope from a Nikon lens, while the built in hood pulls out, locks into position and retracts easily and without fuss.  The optic bears a gorgeous multi coloured NIC multicoating which shimmers in the light.

The barrel is in similarly excellent condition, with just a few very light marks from use, The aperture ring moves exactly as expected, while the focus ring is a little stiff for my taste, but should loosen up with use. There is absolutely no sign of any oil or fungus at all.

Traditionally, the 135mm is regarded as a portrait lens and is designed for shallow depth of field, but it lends itself to much, much more, its compact size and long reach teamed with the very fast aperture make it the ideal partner for many kinds of photography, from portraits to grabbing those illusive middle distance candids in the street!

The lens will be supplied as pictured, with caps, ready for you to get to work immediately!

So there you have it, A rare opportunity to acquire an excellent example of this legendary Nikkor, raring to go and begging to be used, every time you take it out is an occasion!  Of course, equipment of this vintage is always in demand, so it may be possible to buy this lens, enjoy it, and part with it in the future for the same or more than you paid for it, making it effectively free!

Hopefully, the description and photos will answer any questions you may have, but please feel free to drop me an email if anything needs clarifying further.
