VINTAGE 1960s 14" JOINTED MOHAIR CHILTERN HUG-ME TEDDY BEAR
This lovely vintage teddy bear has no maker's marks or labels but we believe him to be a Chiltern Hug-Me bear. He has mohair fur, fabric pads, plastic eyes, black claw stitching and a black stitched mouth with an early plastic nose. He is soft stuffed and he has what we believe to be a squeaker inside his tummy that is no longer operative. He is wearing a purple ribbon around his neck. We believe him to date from the 1960s.
Condition: Overall in fair condition, with some playwear consistent with age. He is overall grubby, dusty and faded, and his mohair fur is thinning with some bald patches. His joints are loose. There is a hard patch (possibly glue residue) on his chin just above his head joint. The ribbon around his neck is frayed to the ends. As is mentioned above the squeaker inside his tummy is no longer operative.
