TRADITIONAL HANDMADE GOOSE QUILL 9" FISHING FLOATS x 2 Red

"Wotton"

These two handmade quill fishing floats are made from Goose quills collected from Wotton House Lakes, Buckinghamshire, the home of modern Tench fishing, made famous by Fred J. Taylor and his brothers in the 1960's and 1970's.  The quills are collected after Spring moulting.

Each float is individually signed "Wotton"

You will receive 2 off 9" Long Goose Quills

Made from wild Canada Goose and Grey Lag Goose Quills collected on a Buckinghamshire Estate Lake after spring moulting.

These handmade quills are ideal for the more traditional angler looking for bespoke tackle that will look the part and give a flavour of the past.

I offer these large Goose Quill Floats following several requests for a larger Quill Float.  Made from the largest Goose wing feathers I can find.  They carry around 3 or 4 swan shot.

Suitable for the following:

Fishing deep river swims in fast moving water.

Trotting at extreme distances.

Ideal for float legering.

Long range still water float fishing.

Also ideal for fishing with large baits ie lobworms, slugs, crayfish, large pieces of meat, large pellets etc.

perhaps Mullet fishing from the shore with bread baits or prawns and shrimps.

Ideal to be used with your cane rod and centrepin reel or a nice old Mitchell 300 fixed spool reel if distance fishing.

The tips are all painted bright red and the floats are hand finished in three coats of Yatch Varnish to seal and protect them.

These Goose Quill Floats can be fished with a top rubber or fished waggler style.

No Geese where harmed in the making of these floats.

These quills are natural, no two quills are quite the same.
