This is the actual prototype short track "Modine" cast aluminum and stainless steel radiator used in Richard Petty's 1966 1967 1968 #43 426 Hemi Plymouth Belvedere NASCAR race cars. One of two made (the other one was given to Bobby Allison--it's whereabouts is unknown). Signed by the King himself. Includes a signed, notarized original statement from Richard Petty himself and lots of other great documentation. This one of a kind piece of NASCAR history is still in the possession of the Petty family. Uncleaned and patched with epoxy it is exactly as it was the last time it was used in early 1968.

In 1967 Richard dominated the series, winning 58% of all the races run and 10 races in a row. On the short tracks this actual radiator often was up front cooling his engine. 100% authentic. One of a kind. This is not a toy or some sort of reproduction junk--this is the real deal! Through my association with the Petty family, I am very pleased to represent this item for your consideration.

This artifact should be on display at the new NASCAR Hall of Fame.
