Item offered is undated but a little research shows that it may date as far back as 1906. It's a very rare and hard to find deck of CONGRESS 606 WHIST SIZE playing cards in their original packaging.
The deck includes all 52 cards, Joker card, United States Playing Card Company Guarantee Card (that may be used as an extra joker), and advertising card for a book of playing card rules, as well as the "Avondale Schedule for 500," which is, according to the card, updated yearly, with the copyright date of 1906. While I am not sure whether this schedule is part of the original deck, it was in the case along with the other cards.
These cards are original! They are not reproductions! The portrait of native maiden MINNEHAHA that is on every card is bright and beautiful with gold gilt accents. The cards are edged in gilt that is slightly faded. Some of the cards show minor wear, but again, this deck -- which is rarely seen -- is complete, sturdy, clean, highly-collectible, and absolutely beautiful.
