Each board is 60cm x 60cm (that's slightly under 24"x24"). The boards are constructed of two sheets of 1" thick hard foam, with 1/4" thick MDF on the bottom. These sheets are sandwiched together with glue and pinned with finishing nails. The edges of the boards are sealed with several layers of latex paint to seal and protect the foam. Eight padded floor protectors are on the bottom of each board to protect your table from scratches. The surface has been constructed from hard plaster and construction sand and is very durable.

There are 4 trench boards (with front and rear trench lines), that fit together modularly so they can be fit into various configurations. One board is a basic trench board with a communications trench connecting the front and rear trench lines. The second board features a large hill with two bunkers (with removable roofs). This hill is itself removable, revealing a network of tunnels and dugouts. The third board features the standard two lines of trenches, with a gun pit in the rear, and a communications trench splitting forward from the front trench line. The fourth board features a small ruined village, with 4 ruined buildings, including an extensive church ruin. All the buildings are removable, revealing their foundations, allowing you to place your figures in the basements! The church even features such details as a large golden crucifix, and even broken stained glass!

The 4 no-mans-land board are also unique. The first features a large gully spanning most of the board. The second features a 2" deep crater, obviously caused by the impact of a massive artillery shell! The third board features an outpost and communications trench that connects to one of the trench boards. The fourth board is strewn with various craters.

All the boards are custom and unique, from the sand bags, to the revetments, to the craters, many with murky water filling the bottoms. There are also various dugouts with removable roofs on many of the boards, allowing you to hide your troops from the terrors of an enemy barrage! To add to the destroyed landscape, there are also at least 12 different casualty figures modelled onto the terrain boards.
