PLEASE NOTE:

I was the FIRST person to come up with this balancing method back in 2013. I have decided to buy extra tools to make more to help others. The fee I ask for helps to cover the research I have done and unfortunately to cover eBay fees as well.

This is the original balancer rod for Self Tightening Propellers. You can see the quality of my work from the photos!

These are machine threaded! Not threaded by hand or some claiming CNC Made like other copies being sold.

For those with the latest DJI Phantom v1.1.1 / DJI Phantom 2 / DJI Phantom Vision, you will note that they all use the new Self Tightening Propellers with the inbuilt nuts (Improved version I think as it definitely helps and ensures your propellers do not become loose whilst you're flying.

The only trouble with these propellers are, you cannot use conventional ways of balancing them because the nuts are built in and you can't simply push a rod through a prop for balancing on your awesome DuBro High Point Balancers!

I had the same problem and I decided to make a balancing rod that is threaded on both sides that will accommodate both black and silver propellers.

PS, balancing the propellers is not an absolute must - although unbalanced propellers will definitely not produce a smooth video if you're using your Phantoms to film - you will get those dreaded 'jello effect' on your videos where you get horizontal lines going up and down your video and it's not smooth.

I make these Aluminum rods using a lathe with collet chuck to make sure the threads are perpendicular! Definitely not home made using hands! Don't even trust people using cheap jaw chucks as these will mark the rods during the grip! I did try doing these by hand at home but the end thread was crooked and not straight.

Please note I am only selling one aluminium rod. Not the propellers nor the DuBro balancer!
Any questions, please ask.

Thank you and have fun with your Phantoms!

I am not like other people who sell everything on eBay - as you can see, I only sell these rods because I am just a hobbyist like you. Not somebody who is trying to make a quick buck. I fully support what I have created and I take pride in my work. I keep in touch with everyone who buys my rods because I like to talk about flying with them.

When you get my rod - you're not only just getting my rod, you're getting a friend as well!

Please NOTE:

There are two ways to work on your unbalanced prop:

1. Sand the heavier blade. Make sure you sand the bottom side and not the top. You can use any sandpaper for this. Do not worry about weakening the blade. You are only sanding off the top layer and usually only needs a few rubbing to get the blades to the same weight.

2. Use tape. Any tape will do. Scotch tape or Sello Tape are perfect. Even electrical tape are perfect! Do not use patches of so called prop tape (there is no such thing) because ideally, you need the tape to wrap around the blade starting from the leading edge. This is to avoid having the tape unpeel when the propeller is spinning which will happen if you use a patch tape on the bottom of the heavier blade like I've seen some people do.

Here are a few videos that people who have bought my Balancer Rod have created to help you in using your balancer rod. Thank you very much - Do not settle for cheap copies! I fully stand by my balancer rod!

I have also added a couple of photos of recent emails from recent people who have received my balancer rods.

I have some free time so I decided to update this listing with how I make my rods.

After threading the rods, I then polish them. This is a 2 stage process. Coarse and fine! The photo below shows a rod halfway through polishing:

After polishing, I then wash the rods just get rid of any oil and dust residue:

And dry them:

Rods waiting for packing!

I do not have photos but I pack each rod in Cardboard for protection before shipping it out.

And just for fun, here is a photo of my Phantom recording me flying my heli! :o)

I hope you enjoyed that little tour! Any questions, please feel free to ask!
