At Photonic Universe we always make sure that the quality of our products is high. That's why we selected one of the leading German companies SolarWorld as a supplier of solar cells for the solar panels used in this charging kit. SolarWorld, an established German solar company with excellent reputation, was also the company that purchased solar manufacturing plants from BOSCH in 2013/2014, to become one of the largest solar manufacturers in Germany and a well-recognised solar industry player globally. SolarWorld solar cells used in our solar panels have great performance in low light conditions (particularly compared to "no-name" / "no-brand" solar cells of unknown origin) and they produce good amount of power even without direct sunlight, such as in the morning or evening, or in cloudy weather. Please note that SolarWorld is a supplier and manufacturer of only the solar cells for our solar panels - i.e. they produced the key component of our solar panels which generates electricity. SolarWorld is not a manufacturer of the whole solar panel.

This high quality waterproof 60W folding solar kit is designed to provide free power for charging 12V batteries, for example in vehicles and boats (motorhome, caravan, camper, narrow boat, yacht etc) or any other systems with a 12V battery or battery bank. It comes with everything needed for battery charging: advanced 10A 12V solar charge controller, 5m cable with a battery plug, fuse and crocodile clips. You can start using the kit in seconds - just connect it to your battery and find a well-lit area for the folding solar panels.

The kit comes with a stand which is very easy to set up and fix. A handle and latches ensure ease of storage and portability. Storage case included with the kit is made with a layer of foam, so it will protect the glass and the frame well and prevent any accidental damages. In addition, the corners of solar panels are protected by plastic which reduces the risk of damage and makes design look beautiful.

10A waterproof solar charge controller included with the kit will protect your battery from over-charging (it controls the state of charge of your battery every second). The controller has many other protection functions, such as stopping reverse current at night (from the battery back to the solar panel), incorrect polarity and short circuit protection. Controller uses PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) technology which increases charge acceptance and prolongs the life of your battery. PWM technology can also recover some lost battery capacity.

In addition, the solar charge controller has very high degree of water protection IP66 (which means it's completely sealed), so it's absolutely safe to use this solar kit in any weather conditions.

The kit is suitable for sealed, gel and flooded 12V batteries: solar charge controller allows battery type selection for maximum efficiency of charging.

An installation guide is included with the kit (advanced users will also benefit from a separate detailed manual for the solar charge controller).

Delivery:

  • Please note that import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. If the courier requires payment of these local charges to complete the delivery, they will be your responsibility as a buyer.
  • Upon receipt of the item, please examine it carefully. In an unlikely event of any damage in transit, please report it to us immediately by email or phone, but in any case not later than 7 days after receipt of the item. To enable us to deal with the courier efficiently, we might ask you for some additional details, e.g. photographs or the damage and packaging.

Returns:

  • If you change your mind in the first 30 days after receipt of the item, we will be happy to accept it back and refund your payment. You need to notify us via email / phone within 30 days of receipt that you intend to return the item, request the return address and send the item back within a further 14 days at your cost. To be eligible for a full refund, the item must be new, unused, undamaged and correctly packaged. Please do ensure we receive the item in the same perfectly new condition, e.g. take reasonable care to wrap it and protect on the way back to us.

Warranty:

  • This product is covered by 1 year warranty. Solar cells are guaranteed to produce at least 90% of nominal power in 10 years and 80% of nominal power in 25 years.
