A highly detailed 1/43rd scale resin model from the TrueScale Miniatures / TSM-Model series of Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe chassis number CX2287, first of the six Cobra coupes designed by Pete Brock to compete against Ferrari in GT Championship events. Following an extensive circuit racing career, this particular car went on to set 23 USAC / FIA world records on Bonneville Salt Flats Utah in early November 1965 driven by Craig Breedlove and Bobby Tatroe.

Craig Breedlove’s record attempts at Bonneville had been stalled due to technical issues while sponsor Goodyear had the salt reserved for four days. Officials required the facility to be used for a continuous period of time or to be given up to rival Firestone sponsored Art Arfons, so Goodyear asked Shelby American for a coupe to attempt endurance records. A recently rebuilt engine was hurriedly fitted along with a new set of racing tyres and the car delivered to the salt. After a brief period of testing and detail modifications, Breedlove and Tatroe subsequently set 23 national and international speed records. The car can be viewed today in the collection of the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Pasadena USA.
