Here is an antique Swiss GOLIATH pocket watch of decorative form, made from gun metal and gilt brass, with a white enamel dial that has foil backed blue enamel roundels with Roman numerals in.
Signed 'Regulateur' and with a black transfer Railway STEAM TRAIN on the front.
It has fine gold decorative hands.
The movement is not signed, but there is a number 5696. It is a PERRET & Co watch .... as I know the movement type.
A crown wind ....you will see the watch is larger than usual.....a GOLIATH type...... but RAILWAY - LOCOMOTIVE watches tended to be larger.
Be assured this is a period pocket watch and not a botched later added train to the dial.
This watch is working, but please note I cannot guarantee time keeping.
A nice watch, with some cracks to the enamel dial and a little of the blue enamel too.
The blue enamel roundel at the 3 position I would say was a replacement.. as it has not got the gilt III on it and it has a slightly differant look about it......you can only really see this if you look carefully.
You see similar dials on the Hebdomas pocket watches.
It is approx 6.5cm dia x 9.5cm long to the suspension loop x 18mm deep including the glass crystal plastic.... and it weighs approx....189grams.
