Elspeth Buchanan (1915-2011); daughter of the Scottish artist, Evelyne Oughtred Buchanan. Elspeth studied at the Edinburgh College of Art, later teaching art in Essex and Edinburgh. She exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts. During WWII she used her technical skills as a Draughtswoman, mapping areas of conflict. I have acquired a large folio of Elspeth’s art work from the 1930’s to the mid 20th century. Artworks include a large gouache study of children around an ice cream seller, a number of smaller watercolour and pastel landscapes and life drawings from Art College. Many drawing are signed; listed individually with full description below. No offers on these artworks unless otherwise stated. I will offer free postage to the UK if three or more works by Elspeth are purchased together.
