Collings OM3-MhG Cut

Up for auction this superlative guitar: the Collings OM3-MhG Cut in Beewings Mahogany and German Spruce. This combination of fine woods is unique and gorgeous sounding. The Beewings Mahogany is rich in color, matched by its gorgeously streaked German Spruce top. The superb tonewood selection and flawless build quality are evident not only visually, but also in its voice: with its strong, even trebles and that classic Mahogany punch in the mids, this guitar is a joy to pick and strum.

The guitar sounds much louder than you would expect of the guitar of this size. Ultra-responsive, the light, stiff German spruce top zings with crisp, clean tone and echoes with a lush, reverby sustain sure to please the most demanding fingerstyle guitarists. The beautifully handcrafted and sonically marvelous Collings OM3 has an open and warm sound with a distinct edge to it that cuts through the mix, and is never overwhelming or harsh.
Arguably the most popular 14-fret guitar among fingerstyle players, the OM is also appealing to strummers and flatpickers due to its versatility.

The choice of Collings Cutaway guitars is very limited, they are much more rare than a standard non-cutaway version and in a high demand by Collings afficionados.

It is a light guitar: it weighs only about 3.85" pounds or 1.75 kg with the strings. The sweet smell of fine exotic woods coming out right after you open the case is just unforgetable.
This guitar charms every person who has the honor of playing it. It rings and sings and sustains in ways other guitars can only dream of. It is an instrument to be treasured and pleasured.

This guitar was acquired by me as a collector's piece, it was the best sounding guitars in the store, and there were at least ten of other Collings. It's been played since just occasionaly and never left my home. I've always kept it in a hardshell case in a controlled humidified environment.
The guitar is in excellent clean condition.
The action and playability of the guitar are perfect with no dead spots or any other flaws.

The guitar retains it's original factory's glossy nitro finish, never being re-polished. You can see every grain of the wood, that allows the guitar to breath and sing like a bird.

I don't accept returns for guitars, the sale is FINAL. Bid with confidence on this guitar, you will not be disappointed!

Information from the Collings web site:

'OM' stands for "Orchestra Model," but 80 years after this body shape was first designed it has become the most popular 14-fret model with fingerstyle guitar soloists who choose to play on steel strings. Yet flatpickers also find it appealing, and when the graceful cutaway is added these OMs are often used by lead players who routinely explore all 20 frets much as they would on an electric guitar. The compact shape makes the Collings OM equally easy to handle onstage or when sitting on the couch, and the relatively shallow body (barely over 4 inches deep) results in balanced tone and an immediate response.
