The center is a glass cameo of a face along with some intricate designs and faux pearls on either side.  This barrette is from "New, Old Stock-New York Days for Kirks Folly" items have never been used.  We know this one to be very rare even though it has been packed away for many years and is in "NEW" perfect, unused condition.  It measures 3-1/2" long x 1" wide.   Not your department store type of barrette!  A great style to keep your hair off your neck for a cool and pretty summer accessory.  Do you wear barrettes?  Please note that any props used in the photos are not included w/purchase.  It will include a free gift box!
