Hello Bill,
Thanks for your email. I would love to give you some feedback on the
Compadre. I love it!!! Ever since I purchased my backpacker many years ago, my
one complaint is that I could only play it standing up with the strap. I even
told people I was going to get a old beat up guitar and trace out the backpacker
shape and then cut it out so I could insert it into the full size guitar shape
to be able to sit and play it!... You have done it! You created a product that I
have been dreaming of for years. I have been so happy with it. It attaches in
seconds, it is light yet strong and fits in my backpacker guitar case for travel
but most importantly .... it works!!! I have told everyone and every guitar
store I find. Great product and invention. Keep up the great work.
Sincerely,
Andrew Ouellette
I love it! Perfect design because now it sits just perfectly - so it's more enjoyable to play but still retains it's coolness

Hey Bill,
I had discussed the backpacker with a professional musician turned guitar store owner
prior to receiving either the backpacker or the stabilizer. He mentioned that he had
owned a backpacker and found it too difficult to play because of it's dimensions and
consequently gave it away. I received the backpacker 2 days prior to receiving the stabilizer
and confirmed his sentiments.
Upon receiving the stabilizer, I looked at it and wondered, "what the heck". However, once
I installed it, I thought what a simple and wonderful device. I immediately walked to the
guitar shop and showed it to Chad (owner). He played it, and stated "damn, why didn't I think
this". He will probably be ordering another backpacker. It's a great product which makes
the backpacker complete. Without the stabilizer, I also would probably have given the guitar
away. Now my wife wants one as a practice unit since both the backpacker and stabilizer are feather light.
sincerely,
Florentino
I received the Compadre yesterday and it was what I was expecting. I
found
out about your site on a website devoted to Martin Backpacker Guitars,
I do
not
recall the actual website - it was talking about the evolution of
the guitar
and mention your device and another company that made a clear
plastic device
achieving the same results. The other company was listed as
on eBay but
when I searched it was no longer available.
I am pleased as I
was wanting a way to play my Backpacker on my lap without
the strap.
I
wish you the best of luck with your business.
Sincerely,
Ted

The Youtube videos is where I really found the best selling
features and
how the compadre made the backpacker guitar a much more
enjoyable guitar to
play. The guitar itself being so small and light is very
frustrating to use
and the compadre gives it the necessary
stabilization.
Thanks for making this product available.

............... ( this testimonial was sent BEFORE Bob even received it
)
The Compadre is all that much more then I expected. The shape and design
and
use of light weight material is a perfect enhancement for the
Backpacker
Guitar. It is a well made and durable and it fits perfectly on the
guitar in
or out of it's carry bag. Thanks to the ingenious design of the
Compadre the
guitar is no longer a frustrating
clumsy instrument that I'm
sure many people have given up playing and are
gathering dust in one of
there closets.
I can now sit and play the guitar without struggling to find
a position of
comfort. The low price and quality of the Compadre make it make
it even more
desirable and a perfect
accessory for the Martin backpacker
Guitar.
I would be honored if you use my comments to let others like myself
be able
to utilize there guitars with this fantastic product.
Feel free to
use my comments to help you promote the sales of the
Compadre...I'm a retired
Electrical tech. who is enjoying those senior
years with my love of guitar
playing.
Good luck with this fine product.

(after he received it )
Pretty neat idea. I would think anyone who has
one of these travel guitars
would want one. Without one the travel guitars
are impossible to play. Will
leave a great feed back. ( Ebay

This is a great product, and I wish you great success in
selling it. I
bought an acrylic one from a guy in England; it started
breaking after a few
airline trips, so your durability video - running
it
over, and having the dog play with it, really sold me. You should
include
that link in your Ebay ad as well. One last request: since I'm your
first
Ebay sale, how about signing the Compadre for me?
You'll be in good
company, I have Tommy Emmanuel and Laurence Juber's
signatures on my
backpacker! (plus some other unknowns I've played with)
Best
Regards,
Bob
Hey, just thought I would let you know
that the Compadre is great. Good
size, still fits in the case, light weight.
Cheers.

Wow! That's cool to be the first.
I found your site through
http://tachyonlabs.com/mbackpacker.html.
It looks like a great simple
product. The videos sold me. Your site is hard
to find on it's own.
I'll be sure to give you feedback and look forward to
your other products.

Hey Bill,
Got it friday
afternoon. I'm quite impressed. I'm sure you know it mellows
the sound of the
backpacker and makes it sound half decent.
I had an idea to help balance the
guitar. I took a piece of rope and looped
it thru the third elastic loop. I
run the rope under my leg (I'm sitting)
I pull the rope until the neck
floats. The friction hold the rope. No
balancing required. I'm going to make
a flat strap to replace the rope.
Great product Bill!
I'll be traveling
with it the next couple of months so I'll give you some
feedback on
it.

Hey Bill - the Compadre showed up today. I tried it
out and loved it... it
really is pretty stiff and does the job - congrats on
a great, yet simple,
design. I'm a project engineer for a DoD company by day,
and I
just love it when the simplest solutions work the best! The Backpacker
is a
good concept that has an ergonomic flaw that some find inexcusable.
Your
product fixes that flaw, and makes the BP usable
to a lot of us! I'm
off to leave feedback on eBay in a moment.
All the best in this
endeavor,
Bob Schembre
Hi Bill,
I appreciate your checking! Thanks
to the Compadre, I've shelved plans to
sell my Backpacker. Even playing with
a strap, I just could not come to
terms with the shape of the instrument: it
always felt
like I had to hold it in place with my left hand, and I'm not
good enough to
do that and actually play! Now, without the distraction of
trying to hang on
to the darn thing, I'm findinjg that it's
actually
pretty fun to play!\Many thanks for a great idea,
Jim

Hi Bill,
I've owned a backpacker Martin for many years now but
always had to use a
strap for playing for either sitting or standing. My wife
and I saw the
Compadre in action a couple of weeks ago at
the "Martin on
Main" event. I was struck by the genius of it. What a great
idea! When I got
back home I decided to order one - then we took off on
another short
vacation. We got back
Sunday August 21 and the "Compadre" was waiting. It
fits perfectly and does
enable playing the backpacker sitting down without a
strap. This is simply a
briliant idea! If I may make a
suggestion that a
brown colored Compadre might also integrate well with the
wood of the
instrument. But count me as a very satisfied customer! The
Compadre makes the
Backpacker a more
viable playing option. It's awesome!
Thanks,
Ray

Bill,
yes I received the Compadre Backpacker attachment.
I really ENJOY using it.
It's much easier playing the Backpacker with the
Compadre. The best of luck
to you with the Compadre.
It is a BRILLIANT
IDEA. I will do what I can to help get the word out to
guitarists I know.
Thanks again, Bill. Rock on.
Sincerely,
Branden Olis
