Sansui QRX 8001 Quadraphonic Receiver Stereo Vintage 

Here is a Beautiful Example of a True Classic and a great candidate for restoration. Sansui QRX 8001 has an awesome following and if you Google search this beast of a vintage receiver you will find a very many great reviews. Second only to the "Big Brother" Sansui QRX 9001 which is considered to be the best of the quadraphonic receivers. Now is your chance to get your hands on this classic. 

This receiver is an unrestored original and please keep in mind it's a few shy of being 40 years old. Even though it's one model down from TOTL in the series this receiver packs a punch. When restored It will even power your larger speakers with ease.

The physical condition is pretty good. The real wood veneer is in pretty good shape although it looks like someone at some point tried to use some kind of treatment which can be seen in the last photos. There are a couple small bumps on the case but as you can see in the photos nothing that sticks out. The case is nice and square and joints are not loose in any way. It in no way diminishes the beauty and the case is a great candidate to be refinished. It's been cleaned and dusted. 

Functionality 

This unit will need some service or even better, a great candidate for restoration. The QRX X001 series are a bit more complicated than it's two channel cousins and quite common for service to be needed on most of the unrestored units due to age. To have a better understanding I would suggest looking at QRXrestore.com. They are a bit pricey but do great work. There are many technicians who can do the work cheaper but QRXrestore.com has the most comprehensive information to help give you an understanding. On the front channels one channel is out the other is a bit staticky. The Rear channels amplifies very clean and loud. I recapped the driver boards but it looked as tho they where done once before me. I'm not a technician so I could solve the front channel drop out. Due to this issue this receiver is being sold As-is or for parts and is non refundable. 

Shipping

I take great care in the way I package any vintage audio gear. The unit itself will be wrapped with quality clear plastic packaging wrap. It will then be wrapped in bubble wrap with a minimum suspension of 4 inches on all sides (maybe more depending on fill of the box.) I only use a quality box that I deem sturdy enough to hold the weight. 

*Side note:  I've been a victim of poor shipping practices in the past. I am very sensitive to ensuring quality packaging especially when shipping items of this vintage.

Due to the vintage age and potential parts swapping I will NOT under ANY circumstances accept returns on this item. Due to the age, any of the functions may be in need of repair at any time.
