A stunning & rare antique 9ct Solid Gold & natural Rock Crystal 'Pools of Light' Heart Shaped Pendant dating to c1885 (please see the detailed close-up photographs provided, which form an integral part of the item's description).
This finest quality Pendant has been wrought by hand from natural Rock Crystal (Quartz) and the cutting & polishing marks are still just visible confirming that this has been entirely hand made by an artisan Victorian Jeweller.
Overall, it is in really great condition for an antique Pendant of this age with only a flea bite at the point of the heart, which is so small that it won't be noticed when worn and only really mentioning for descriptive completeness. The Rock Crystal is still beautifully clear, however with natural Quartz crystal there is a natural ripple effect, which are not a flaws but simply a natural feature of the material.
In summary, this is a fine example of a antique Victorian 'Pools of Light' Heart Shaped Pendant, which has the following dimensions: it is approx' 20mm long (excluding the bail) by approx' 19mm wide and approx' 11mm thick. This rare & sublimely beautiful Victorian Pendant only requires the addition of a chain to make it ready to wear - just sublime.
