Icebreaker Heated Vest by Typhoon powered by a 6800mAh Lithium-ion battery and supplied with UK mains trickle charger and temperature controller for comfort.
Size fits all with four robust large Velcro fastener pads at the shoulder and sides.
Ready to go..

Please note ~ running the vest at higher temperatures will mean a shorter length of heating time
I have simplified the connections to include just the black connector which is splash-proof and can be disconnected in the middle.

Keep warm in freezing weather.
Great for relatively static activities such as horse-riding, fishing, watching football and other sports, motorcycling, security officers, winter sports such as ski-ing, skating and walking. And anyone who has to hang around in icy weather.

Wear the vest under your jacket or jumper and it will give you super-heat for several hours depending on how warm you run the vest. Maximum temperature of c55'C is usually too warm for extended periods but will last 60-90minutes, depending on ambient temperatures.
The control dial allows the user to set a comfortable temperature of 30-45'C for the prevailing conditions on the day - outside temperatures, clothing, heat requirements etc. Please see the test chart images showing maximum temperatures and lower temperature examples.
In the 30s 'C one can expect the vest to be heated by the 6800mAh battery for 4 or more hours, and if not needed for a while, switching off will conserve energy for heating later on.

The Icebreaker Vest was originally designed for cold water diving, it has four heater panels, two front & two rear, about 40-50W in total.
Depending on how cold the weather, and how much clothing is worn, the vest temperature would soon rise to 45-55'C, however the temperature can be adjusted to suit exactly using the control dial ~ fantastic for keep you warm in icy conditions. The vest weighs 750g.

Using the vest ~ I have enjoyed testing the heated vest in the field and I have also run some temperature tests with the jacket. Please view the chart image ~ to save power it is best to wear the vest for ten minutes to heat it to body temperature prior to use. The vest should not be worn next to the skin, but rather over a shirt and blow a jumper and jacket etc - that will conserve energy and heat for longer ~ set it to whatever you find is most comfortable for you. The vest should not be used by anyone who is infirm and unable to recognise and control the temperature effectively.

Battery 6800mAh 12V is trickle charged over 20hrs with the provided Charger and UK mains adapter.
To charge, the battery is plugged in
to the charger, the red lights come on, then the battery must be turned on so the green charging light appears on the charger. The trickle charger will then take approximately 20hrs to recharge from full use. the battery is rated for 5000 recharges.  The battery weighs 210g and is small enough to slip in your jacket or trouser pocket, or in your shoulder bag.

The total weight of the Icebreaker vest, cable and battery is less than 1kg, at 960g.

This Icebreaker vest is Ministry of Defence surplus stock and of the highest quality, originally supplied to the MOD for cold water diving.

This item will be sent recorded and signed for, hence £6.00 p&p
