The Adventures of Hajji Baba of Ispahan by J. J. Morier, Heritage Press

You are bidding on The Adventures of Hajji Baba of Ispahan by J. J. Morier, preface by Sir Walter Scott, with an introduction by E. G. Browne and illustrated by Honore Guilbeau.   The book was designed by legendary illustrator and book designer W. A. Dwiggins.  The Heritage Press, New York published the book special copyright 1947.  It is Bussacco Heritage Press catalog number BHP-K-13 and was issued an alternative selection for 1947.    The interior is in very good condition.  The pages are tight.  There are no tears. or marks.  The cover is in very good condition.  There is fading of the spine and scratches on the title block.  The slipcase is in poor condition.  It shows heavy wear and is held together with tape.  It may not be pretty, but it has protected the book for over 69 years and should continue to do so for decades to come.  The book is 6 3/8” x 9 1/4” tall and 498 pages.  There are numerous b & w line drawings by Honore Guilbeau.  W. A. Dwiggins illustrated the beautiful color title page, and also the decorative initial letters.  The Heritage Club Sandglass is missing.
