Please be aware that these National Geographic Maps are very old and they are printed on paper that is not acid free and in some cases have not been stored in the best way. We do our best to reduce handling, only opening the map once for photographing. The map you get may be worn or lightly torn along the fold lines due to the acidity of the paper and being folded for years. They may also be discolored or mottling spots again due to the acidity of the paper. The borders of the maps may also have small tears. On occasion maps may smell musty from the way they have been stored in the past. When the map is kept in an open area the musty smell will fade away in time. Any damage that is above and beyond the norm will be disclosed.
