Talk about RARE, HARD TO FIND, VERY FEW MADE, and no doubt, you'll be talking about this clarinet! For classical clarinetist, this "A" clarinet, is a real asset, as it's helpful aid in the fingering, of some "tricky"  passages. It's approximately an inch and a half longer than the Bb model, unless of course, you need the low range extended to "Eb", instead of the normal "E" in which case, the total length, would be aporoximately 3" longer. We have for sale,  a vintage, rare, hard to find, double  walled "thermoclarinet" in the key of "A". This clarinet is marked "The Haynes Clarinet, Made By Wm. S. Haynes Co, Boston Mass, No 157, Pat Applies For, Regd Trademark", the bell is also marked registered trademark, along with Haynes emblem, approximately  335 of these thermoclarinets, were made from the late 1920's  until the early 1940's, this one is #157 made, however, of the total  thermoclarinet made, the majority were in the key of Bb, very, very, very, few were made in the key of "A" ( of the several we have/own, of these clarinets, only 10% are in the key of "A", the majority of our Haynes clarinets, are all "Bb"). These sterling clarinets, Made by The Haynes Co, in my opinion are the best quality ones made in the whole world, of course, again that is my opinion. This Haynes Clarinet, is no exception, it is a double wall sterling silver barrel, body, and bell- all fabricated from Sterling Silver (that's 92 & 1/2% pure silver -Which as we all know will polish up beautifully). Keys are plated. Of course, the pivot screws, rods, springs, pads, etc, are all made from the materials that are required of them!
I first found out about these guys over 40 years ago, and I immediately "feel in love " with them, and purchased everyone I could find, and afford. Now, after a heart attack, at near the age of 84, I am forced to the realities of life, I hate to part with any one of them, but property taxes demand I sell a couple (recently sold a Bb) of these clarinets, I have acquired, and still Have! I've noticed on  ebay, these fabulous instruments, at time have sold for close to $3,500.00. This clarinet has  no mouthpiece, nor case, perhaps the big savings I'm offering , may buy them (case , mouthpiece) for you (ha ha). This quality  instrument  needs a overhaul, pads, and perhaps a spring or 2, plus some TLC (far, far less than $100 if you can do the reconditioning  yourself, but, please, if you have never done this type of work, have it done professionaly, for this clarinet-they don't make these quality clarinets any more. All, in all, it's in great condition, no dents, a real beauty. Buy this rare, hard to find, clarinet, at the very low BUY IT NOW price of only  $2,495.00 or make a very, very, very, close offer which we will consider. Because it's not currently in playing condition, please know what you are buying  - it is being sold as is, no return. Listing is for clarinet only, no case, or mouthpiece. Buy it Now and avoid the "you snooze, or you lose" senerio. Please take a look at all the pictures as well as zoom in for close up shots, if you need more pictures or pictures of something I didn' t show, message me your email address, and I will send them to you. If you have any questions please  ask, or give, myself or  Ron a call 313 725-0117 we would be more tham happy to help you.
