Custom Cans are pleased to offer these awesome modified Sennheiser HD25-1 mk II headphones. Custom Cans have been pulling apart and modifying the HD25 for four or five years now and after over a year of tweaking and testing, can now offering the Uber edition for sale to the general public. The HD25 have been around for 25 years and have won acclaim for their flat response, fun sound and detailed mids. They are great headphones with a brilliant reputation but these Uber edition ones have several modifications to squeeze more detail across the range and help them drop lower for better resolution in the bass/ sub bass region.

The modifications are as as follows ..

Firstly, the damping has been updated in the earcup to make them sound more open - essentially we have removed the felt disc inside the earcup and instead lined the inside of the cup with bituminous vibration ramping material - this stops resonance in the earcup an helps them sound more open as there is a bit more air volume to play with behind the driver.

Next, rear of the driver and the driver enclosure has been mass loaded. As you may know every action has an equal and opposite reaction - due to the HD25s lightweight construction a fair amount of the energy from the driver goes into vibrating the earcups. Also added are lead weights strategically placed on the driver to add extra weight in the right places to ensure that more of the energy from the diaphragm is turned into sound rather than being absorbed by vibrating the casing. This gives a lot more bass detail and makes them less boomy - you can hear a lot more texture and impact in a basslines. After all this, there was probably a bit too much bass so we have also reduced the size of the bass ports in the driver which further tightens things up and stops the bass from overpowering the mids/ highs

They come with a steel cable as standard as they are designed for use by camera men and audio pros - the steel gives the cable high tensile strength while keeping it light weight but is not great for sound quality.

The audiophile cable has much lower resistance, capacitance and inductance than the stock cable which gives them more detail across the board and the low capacitance helps with timing and impact

The colour of the external wire around the headband can vary, but we have recently begun using shrink tube to either match the paracord colour or use black, though we cannot guarantee this for every cable. The paracord covering on the cable will be black as standard but if you fancy a different colour please message us after the sale.

The standard cable length is 1.5m, if you want it shorter we can do that at no extra charge, or if you require a longer cable prices we offer 2m @ +£5, 2.5m @ £10.50, and 3m @ £16.50.

Delivery information:-

· Airbrushed headphones are made to order, so may take 4 working days to dispatch

· UK – we send via Royal Mail Special Delivery so your item is will arrive the day after we send it out, before 1pm. Please ensure you are in so that you can sign for the parcel otherwise you will have to go all the way down to the sorting office to pick it up.

· Our standard service uses normal post and should be with you in the timescales above, but in extreme cases can take up to 25working days. You will be given a reference number but you may not be able to track fully.

· Express courier is fully tracked and available to selected countries and normally takes about a week. Please ensure you provide a local phone number in case of query. If your country is not listed then contact us for a quote.

· You may be subject to customs charges, which is out of our control. Please contact your local tax office for more information. As we are one big happy family, there will be no import duties for countries in the EU.

Important information

We normally use the HD25-1 mk II PRO basic edition – these are the same headphones as the standard edition but without the velour pads and pouch in the box. We can make you some using the standard edition but it would cost £20 more and to be honest the extra accessories are probably not worth that much (we sell the velour pads separately for £12.)

We are probably some of the world’s experts on the HD25series of headphones as we have modified and repaired thousands of pairs. If you check our Youtube channel we have even dismantled the headphones blindfolded to prove our skills, so if you have any questions no matter how technical we should be able to answer them and we also take care of the warranty on them. In the unlikely even something goes wrong with your headphones inside the warranty period you just need to send them back to us, Sennheiser then supply us with the parts and we repair, them check them and send them back out to you. But if you check forums and stuff online you will see that the HD25 are pretty bulletproof so we get hardly any issues.
