Most people who have very little knowledge in gemstone think Amethyst are very inexpensive stones, this it not the case at all. Most of the Amethyst you see being sold on Ebay are hydrothermal meaning the stones are more or less glass stones being heated to look like an Amethyst. Real Amethyst are quite expensive and 4 peaks mine Arizona Amethyst are not only the rarest Amethyst in the world, they are also the most expensive. 

This particular stone was faceted personally by me. It weighs in at 8.30ct.
