ANTIQUE 8.5" BISQUE-HEAD K*R SIMON & HALBIG 126 TODDLER DOLL WITH STARFISH HANDS

This lovely antique doll dates from approx. 1910. She has a bisque head of lovely quality, and a lovely five-piece jointed composition body. She has the more unusual starfish hands. Moulded into the back of her head is 'K*R Simon & Halbig 126 Germany'. We believe that she was made by Simon & Halbig for Kammer & Reinhardt. She has blue glass sleeping eyes that are in good working order, an open mouth with upper teeth, rosy cheeks and painted facial features. She has a more modern light brown wig that is partially loose. She is wearing a white vintage outfit with white undergarments, socks and leather shoes. She has a vintage brooch pinned to her dress.

Condition: Overall in very good condition, with some wear consistent with age and use. There are no visible chips or cracks to her head. She is overall a little grubby and would benefit from a careful clean. There are some marks to her face. There is some minor paint loss to her eyelids and around her neck where it fits into her body. Her wig is a little dishevelled. Her body is also in very good condition. There is some minor cracking around her right-hand leg joint. There is some paint chipping to her fingers and a chip to the end of the index finger on her right hand. Her clothing has some age-related wear and discolouration, and has some slight fraying in places. Her socks are discoloured.
