Description: This is a 19th C. Qing [Ching] [Ch’ing] Dynasty Chinese lady’s informal robe in orange silk satin. Characteristics include a lovely bird, butterfly and floral motif rendered in colorful silk satin, Peking and other decorative embroidery stitching, numerous auspicious symbols including bats, fans, coins and flower baskets, couched gold metallic thread aesthetics, bright blue silk closures and accent trim, metal buttons, as well as a beige lining.  Please note, there is breakdown of the silk near the collar and shoulder areas, as well as in conjunction with the blue silk edging. Some of the couched gold metallic thread has come loose, or is missing (small sections), and some general fading of the orange silk has occurred in accordance with age. See photos for more!
