I have had this camera from new having bought it in the early ‘80s and it was my constant companion on hikes and camping trips.  However I switched to digital about 15 years ago and it has remained unused ever since.  Unused but not unloved and I hate to see it sitting on a shelf doing nothing, hence this ad.

 

As far as I can tell everything is still working following the installation of new batteries – the shutter mechanism, film winder, light meter and the flash all work OK, as do the battery check and self-timer. The lenses are clean and scratch free.  I have not run a film through it so cannot definitely guarantee the door seals won’t need replacing, however kits seem to be available on-line for a few quid.  The only small fault is that the rangefinder image appears very slightly above the viewfinder image, however this does not affect operation as the two images can still be lined up vertically for perfect focus.

 

There are some wear marks on the camera back but otherwise this XA is in very good condition and makes a great little pocket camera for film users.  See review and instruction booklet:
