Pink Octahedral Fluorite (Fluorescent) - Location: Mina La Navidad¸ Abasolo¸ Mpio El Rodeo¸ Durango. Cabinet (see photo for more details). Here we have a nice matrix specimen of purplish-pink octahedral fluorite crystals. The crystals are well-formed and sharp making this a rather showy piece. The crystals are translucent and lustrous. Please note that the fluorite may vary a little in color depending on the light source used for viewing (the photo was taken using a 75 watt incandescent light source). The crystals are darker and more purplish magenta with fluorescent light. The fluorite will fluoresce a nice bluish-magenta color under SHORT wave and a brighter and darker bluish color with LONG wave ultraviolet light (not shown).
