This sale is for an incredibly beautiful and rare 1940s or 50s 18k gold Universal Geneve TriCompax Chronograph, Moon Phase, Date, Month, Tachymeter and Small Seconds. Gold case measures 37mm across. Price is reduced because cleaning and repair are needed. I will however fully guarantee and back the servicing to not exceed my quote as given below. Similar vintage working/serviced gold Universal Geneve Tri Compax watches, when available, sell for $7,000 to $14,000.

This watch is NOT running but I just had it looked at by two of the top fine watch repair persons in San Francisco (at Rolex Authorized Service Center & Geneva) and their estimates for complete cleaning and repair service were $800-$1100. I have reduced my asking price to reflect the servicing needed to bring the watch to fully functioning and cleaned/serviced condition and will fully back the estimated service to the buyer. So if that quote($1100) is exceeded, I will pay any extra charges or take back the watch for a full refund.

The watch repair persons noted that the winding dial is not original or working and needs replacement. Otherwise the case and movements inside appear in excellent shape, clean, no corrosion, and the reset buttons for moon phase and calendar work fine.

Universal, Genève, "Tri-Compax", Ref. 12285, Made in the 1950s. Very fine and rare, 18K pink gold wristwatch with square button chronograph, registers, tachometer, triple date and moon phases. Case is Three-body, solid, polished and brushed, concave lugs, inclined bezel, snap-on case back.

Universal Geneve produced the Tri-Compax model from the 1940s to the 1960s. The watch that would become the crown jewel of Universal Geneve's chronographs came in multifarious sizes, with varying dial and hand configurations. This 18k gold model comes with a very distinct and rare dial and hand configuration. Universal Geneve enjoyed a reputation for exceptional quality and craftsmanship, being distributed by the Henry Stern Watch Agency in the US and Hermes in France. A recent resurgence in popularity only solidifies the reputation Universal Geneve earned during its heyday. The present watch, a handsome example of the iconic Tri-Compax, with gold/white face combination and French calendar and tachymeter scale, would make a fine addition to any collection.

Please feel free to ask any questions or if you'd like any additional pictures or information that I can provide, please let me know. Although I have very little fine watch experience, I have perfect feedback, fully back everything I sell, and am about as straight and honest as they come.
