More vintage B&L Ray Ban treasure tonight in the form of the super self adjustable Changeables in the larger 62mm lens size for full coverage and protection. The lenses are the Changeable Browns which make for the ultimate Changeable driving lens given the self adjustability and the high contrast brown color. But given the versatility of the lenses, these would make excellent sunglasses for a whole host of other uses. The glasses come with paddle temples for extended wear applications like long summer drives.
Hallmarking on the glasses includes the B&L logo etch on both lenses, but not the white Ray Ban script logo on the top of the right lens. But the B&L lens etch is at the top of the lens which indicates manufacture under license in Asia (Singapore) during the 1980's. This is somewhat of a rare marking prized by collectors and wearers alike. Markings on the frame include "B&L RAY-BAN U.S.A." on the top of the cross bar and "B&L RAY-BAN 62[]14" on the underside of the cross bar. Both nose pads also have the B&L logo stamp in the center metal support.
The condition of these vintage stunners is flawless NEW both lenses and frames. The lenses are completely free of any and all scratches, nicks, pits, chips or scuffs. The metal frames are super bright and shiny with no corrosion, dings, scratches or damage to the 24K gold plate. The plastic parts of the frame, the brow bar, paddles and nose pads, show no age deterioration or damage of any kind. The glasses come with a size / period correct B&L Ray Ban Aviator hard case also in excellent condition.
