A badged stem is the gold leaf on the icing of the cake of a proper Eroica build. It elevates the bike and is instantly noticed by all cognoscenti. There will be "oohs" and "aahhs".

This is the very classy "de Luxe" forged aluminium version of Holdworth's "Il Primo Milano" and comes from the 60s era. The badge is a lot more ornate than the earlier steel version and the stem is lighter and considerably higher quality too.

Holdsworth had these stems made by Cinelli, as I understand (since at that time they weren't used to working with alumnium), so it would be authentic and also look absolutely fine on either an English build or an Italian one.

This stem has an entry on Velobase so you can check authenticity.

I've left it in its patina'ed state, so you can either leave it "as is" or polish it up (here's a great guide). I've not mounted it to any bars, but in those days it was 25.4mm as standard for handlebar diameters. As you can see it's the 120mm reach version.

I'm happy to take returns if I've materially mis-described the item. FYI, the photos form part of the description.

My feedback score is 100% and I intend to keep it that way, so if there's any problem, let me know and we'll work it out.

For the UK, I'm sending Royal Mail First Class "signed for" so that any problems of non-delivery are avoided. I'll send internationally, but communicate with me first for an updated price - I'll send it as a "present" which I believe smoothes over the logistics of international sending, and the postage will be at cost.
