MADAME BOVARY (Early Edition, Published Year Unknown)

FLAUBERT, GUSTAVE, Written by (1821-1880) an influential French Writer widely considered one of the greatest novelists in Western literature. He is known especially for his first published novel, Madame Bovary (1857); Translated by Eleanor Marx Aveling.  Dedicated to: Marie-Antoine-Jules Senard, member of the Paris Bar, Ex-President of the National Assembly, and former Minister of the Interior. 

Published in New York by Carlton House – Year unknown.

Condition:

Binding has tears at top and scuffs as shown. Inside cover has name Nell Brown neatly signed at top corner.

Pages: Fine, very minor toning stains on first few pages near front, no pen/pencil marks, two neat dog ear pages. All 400 pages are in excellent condition. Top of outside book pages embossed with gold.  All 400 pages are tight to spine.
