With a face and toothy grin that "only a mother can love" is this turn-of-the-century Organ Grinder with composition head and cloth outfit. Often these are sold as Martin toys, but I believe the actual maker was a French firm called S.I.J.I.M. that often copied Martin toys. The original clothes are still decent, and showing the normal age as you would expect. It does work and he moves his head in a realistic side-to-side motion, moves his left hand and turns the handle with the right. Key is not original to the toy. This is a spooky, large toy that would have to scare most small children, some 9 inches tall. Complete, working and no repairs. One of these just sold at the 3/25/17 Bertoia Auction (Lot 51) at a cost of $2250, so this one is a relative bargain. US buyers add $12 for Priority Mail, signature required.
