1963 Fender Precision Bass

Looking for a cool vintage Pre-CBS P-Bass at the price point of a modern custom shop instrument? We got one for ya! Up for sale is a 1963 Fender Precision Bass in an older walnut stain refin. 5JAN63C neck date, body date is present under pickup but illegible. At some point in this instruments life, the original sunburst finish was stripped and the entire bass was stained in a walnut finish, giving it a very similar look to the Elvis Costello Jazzmaster. The decal was removed at this time as well. Most of this stain has worn off the back of the neck giving it a true vintage feel. Finish aside, this bass is very original having its original guard, neck plate, tuners, pickup, bridge, etc. The pots were replaced in the 80s and the frets / nut appear newer. Pro setup in-house and plays fantastic, lightweight and resonant as well. Comes complete with a later 1960s Fender hardshell case.
