Vintage MOOG OPUS 3 Polyphonic Synthesizer

This auction is for the Moog Opus 3 analog synthesizer. Unlike its brethren, the Moog Prodigy and Rogue models, this synth is polyphonic. The interior has been cleaned and the black foam that turns into black goo has been removed. All the switches and sliders have been cleaned and lubricated. It's missing one slider cap (resonance of the String section). A couple sliders rub a little (not surprising for a 30-year-old synth), but they all function properly. All sections, controls, and keys operate normally. The synth is in very good condition, it's only the wood ends that have taken some abuse (before I bought it). There are a couple chips out of the right side, which you can see in the photos. Included are copies of the Opus 3 Owner's Manual, and the Technical Service Manual. The power cord as well.

The Moog Opus 3 is great for producing strings, organ, brass, and a vast number of combined and layered voices. Organ and Strings can be mixed to the Chorus, and the Organ and Brass can be mixed to VCF. There are both Stereo (L+R) and Mono outputs, which give you more options for amplification. The Moog Opus 3 is a bit rare, since it was only in production from 1980-1983. This classic synth has been used by a number of bands including Kraftwerk. It is probably most recognized as the main synth of Laetitia Sadier of Stereolab.
