The handling of 147 was praised The car became well-known for its engine note, which is unusually mellifluous for a car of its class. ] The 147 GTA was road tested by Jeremy Clarkson, and featured on television show,Top Gear  with a power-lap around the track by The Stig. In his review of 147 GTA car for The Sunday Times, Clarkson described the acceleration as "…Ferrari throttle? Forget it. When you stamp on the accelerator it’s like you’ve hit the Millennium Falcon’s hyperdrive. Suddenly all the stars are fluorescent tubes. …" and the handling as "....A corner was coming. and then it was a distant speck in my rear-view mirror. I vaguely remember turning the wheel and I have a dim recollection of being astounded by the grip . . . and then the moment was gone. No, really, the damn thing is a barnacle....".

Overall condition,I will be as critical as I can ( please read my feedback on Classic cars and bikes sold)

Bodywork:

The shell is in excellent condition ,considering the there is no rubber bump strips on the side to protect the flanks from the parking and trolley dash marks ,nothing that I can see that is obvious ,in fact being hyper critical I can find only two marks on the whole shell ,one a small mark on the nearside rear bumper and a small stone indentation on the rear of the bonnet ,no doubt thrown from the wheel of a car ,but no way do they detract from the overall excellent condition of the car.

Paintwork:

Carrying and very good shine with good depth of colour .

Drivetrain:

Excellent! The car service history shows that this is car the has followed it's factiory service schedule religiously and along with any other work required outside of the service anniversary carried out by Desira .

Consequently the engine is smooth,quite with no known issues .

Braking:

As mentioned above,recent brake overhaul ,so working at premium performance .

Steering:

Pin sharp with no vagueness and instant response to input

Electrical :

At the time of writing all systems working as per specification .

Dual Climate Control:

Working as per specification

Wheels:

As usual with the “Telephone” dial wheels fitted to the GTA the centre extends further than the rim and consequently kerbing marks are an inevitability so the wheels have been refurbished and lacquered in time for the new owner!

Intrerior:

In lovely condition with no rips or tares and just the usual seatbelt rash on the drivers side bolster but the leather showing a nice patina,carpets,door cards,headlining are excellent and likewise the GTA Motif overmats,

Alfa Romeo Factory Installed system.

On the Road:

Well documented as to it's performance , this particular car is an excellent standard bearer of the breed!

As soon as you turn the key you know that this is a serious performance car ! On the road the acceleration is instantaneous,with locked down suspension ,she really hugs the road ,the steering is almost kart like reacting and communicating back the road surface ,the differential and traction control doing an excellent job in regulating the wheel adhesion ,and whilst the ride is firm ,the wonderful leather wrapround seats cosset and hold very well,but the icing on the cake is that wonderful engine ! As you accelerate through the rev band the note becomes more sonorous,

the motoring equivalent of Luciano Pavarotti!

Overall conclusion:

Well if you are looking for a modern classic that carries the spirit of the Afla breed of old then look know further,totally standard and un abused with an A1 Service history and provenance,this is the car for you!

Well what a fantastic Indian Summer we have been having and to take advantage of the unseasonal weather , I have re ignited my passion for two wheeled classic vehicles and have had the pleasure of sourcing and more importantly riding,one of my favourite Motor Cycles the Lamborghini of bikes the mighty Laverda Jota! I forgot just how awesome these machines are “ and being the first generation 180 you can really understand why when they came out it was the fastest bike in the world.

F1:

Another triumphant year for Red Bull,hats off to Adrian Newey for once again such a fabulous car ,Christian Horner for great tactical Team management ,but above all to Seb” Vettel what a great driver ,wonderful talent and also really nice guy! What this team has done in just a few short years since their inception is fantastic, a very bright future I think!

Hopefully now Lewis Hamilton has broken away from his “Pussy” Cat Doll he can focus on next season ,as I do firmly believe he is the only guy capable of taking the race to Vettel! Maybe a return to his father Tony's mentoring might be a good thing, Tony's credentials as a manger are paying dividends to Paul di resta who he manages, I also think Lewis's off form has added to the burgeoning confidence of Jenson Button.

Music Scene:

Well, as you might know if you have seen my listing before, I am the bassist in the band Freezone,we have after playing at the Annual Boat Festival at Soderfors Sweden took time out to say goodbye and many thanks to two of our number, but welcome our new “horn” man Andi who is also Musical Director of Hereford Big Band, so we are now about to set about Autumn in a rejuvenated state and look forward to entertaining friends both old and new.
