If the glow stick is old but not breaking electrically (<0,33 Ohm in 20-30 C°) and it can light the fuel up you could use heater with these  controller perfectly.

Pc diagnostic available (Pin2, as the original).  When You got the controller, email me, i will sharing the download link for the software . For Pc connecting, You need an (aftermarket) Usb - K-line adapter ! (optional, we can sell the adapter cable for 45$ or 30 Eurs).

Short function description :

 

If the water temperature reaches 76 Celsius heating power reduces to ~50% capacity.

If the water temperature gets lower than 56 Celsius the capacity rises up to 100%.

The heater will switched off , if the water temperature reaches 80 C .
Starts on 12V start signal and works until the water temperature reaches 80C or detects any operational problem .

There is double termostatic protect, finally stops operation at 99 Celsius. No sensibility for type of cycling pump so any kind of suitable cycling pump can be used.

 

It has all safety controlling functions (for example: flame monitoring, checking of continuous ventillating and so on.).
 

Universal, so it does not need to and do not communicate on W-bus. You could start it with any external timer or control panel which gives more than 10V continuously (any switch or timer) for starting. The original BMW dashboard does not starts directly !
