For bid and purchase a very rare Studer A820 MKII half inch master recorder in near mint working condition.All functions work record, playback, erase,rewind ect. I have a head report by Sprague Magnetics and the original heads have about 90+ pct life left. Used very little and is a very rare Mark II with many many options....time code,trafoless cards,HX Pro record,ect.The audio card section has the latest revisions please see below. Comes with factory manual.

The HX PRO option offers dynamic biasing which gives greater headroom and allows for modern tape formulations as Quantegy GP9 and ATR as well as SM900 ,911 tape.

Steve Albini has this to say about HX PRO :

"We do have Dolby HX Pro, which is a dynamic bias adjustment, built into our Studer A820 machines. When you modulate the bias dynamically, you can maintain headroom even with very bright, sharp transients. It doesn't affect the amount of hiss, it just creates more headroom. I've never found hiss a problem anyway."

You can see the head stack has all the options ceramic face and rollers it is in excellent condition.

There is a small chip in the right rear wood panel ,otherwise a very clean example.
