The Nikon D5200 is a small & light weight camera with a rugged newly designed polymer Body. The camera features Nikon's newly developed DX-format CMOS Sensor with 24.1 effective megapixels.
The sensor provides accurate rendering and supports high-speed readout during live view and Full HD movie recording. The sensor wide sensitivity range of ISO 100 to 6400 (expandable to ISO 25600 equivalent) delivers sharp images with reduced image blur even in dim light situations. Along with the EXPEED 3 Engine an excellent color reproduction, gradation processing and image are achieved.
The EXPEED 3 manages massive amounts of data at high speed assuring impeccable image processing, card recording, image playback and image transfer.
The camera features 39 Point High-density AF system with a superior subject-tracking and subject-identification combination and an advanced Scene Recognition System; Active D-light; A new intuitive set of Exposure modes and more.
The D5200's LCD screen opens horizontally from 0° to 180° and flips up and down allowing shooting comfortably from a high or low angle with a stable posture.
Video recording at 1920x1080 (60, 50, 30, 24 fps), 1280x720 and 640x424 and a build-in stereo microphone will provide high quality movies with a superior sound.
The camera uses SD/SDH & SDXC for storage and an optional GPS.
