Audio Sync Clapper Board Slate for DSLR rig - With Free Marker Pen

A clapper board performs two functions for the film maker, but the most important one is audio synchronisation.  If you record your audio separately from your video like most serious DSLR film makers, you will need to sync your audio and video in post-production.  Using a clapper board at the start of each scene allows you to match up a visual cue with an audible one.  On the video, you can isolate the exact point where the clapperboard is in the shut position, and on the audio, you can hear a sharp crack.  Once the two are aligned in your video editing software, the audio synchronisation is complete.

The design of this clapperboard features a pair of magnets on the arm.  When the arm is “clapped”, the magnets attract and prevent the arm from bouncing back up again.  This is a very important feature, as it creates a single short, sharp sound and a clear point on the video where the arm becomes shut.

As a secondary feature, the clapperboard is designed to be written on to easily identify which scene/ take is being shot.  This can be a great help when identifying scenes in post-production.

We are also including a free black marker for use with the board.  It can be written on the surface of the clapperboard, and easily wiped off with a cloth or some kitchen roll.
