The common requirement of most Medical Imaging equipment such as CAT scanners and MRI equipment is storage. A number of manufacturers use the Pioneer DE-UH7101 / SH7101 and DE-UH9101 Magneto Optical drives to store medical images on WORM media such as the DEC-502A and 17GWO, or rewritable such as the 650MB DEC-702 and 1.7GB 17GMO. As these drives are SCSI interfaced, they can be mounted on workstations where the disks can be accessed by powerful and low cost desktop systems for further analysis.
This auction is for a NEW - TESTED GUARANTEED WORKING with 120 day warranty Hitachi -OD172S-11 ...2.6GB Multifunction Magneto Optical drive. These drives were used extensively in General Electric and other branded Medical Imaging devices. This drive has been fully tested to confirm that the drive is indeed WORKING and to verify that it meets or exceeds ALL manufacturer's specifications. the drive was received as a NEW/SPARE and was thoroughly inspected for DRIVE/MEDIA, LOAD/UNLOAD wear and inserts. After thorough inspection and testing we have determined that the drive is indeed NEW and we will offer a six month warranty from the date of purchase. This drive is no longer available from Hitachi or it's distributors and was selling for $2,995.00 and more when new units were available approximately five years ago. Hitachi's repair price for non-working units five years ago was $1850.00 US. You are purchasing a NEW drive with a 6 month WARRANTY. In addition, an extended WARRANTY is available through EBAY SQUARE TRADE for a maximum of three years.
